Public Holidays

****Banks are closed for the following Public Holidays in Antigua for 2008:

New Year's Day, Good Friday (March 21st) and Easter Monday (March 24th), Labor Day (May 5th), Whit Monday (May 12th), Caricom Day (July 1st), Carnival Monday and Tuesday (August 4th and 5th), Independence Day (1st November), National Heroes Day (9th December), Christmas Day and Boxing Day (26th Dec)

However, banks in Antigua are NOT closed for these American Holidays: Martin Luther King Day, President's Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Memorial Day (unless Whit Monday is the same day) and Thanksgiving.

Any holiday that falls on a Sunday, is observed the next day, Monday.  At times additional holidays may be observed i.e: Elections or Memorials for Heads of State.
